Role Details: 

Position: Data Analysis & Reporting Specialist

Location: Hyderabad (Hybrid) 

Role Description: 

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Data Analysis & Reporting Specialist to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining comprehensive reporting solution that provide actionable insights from our diverse data sources. You will leverage your strong analytical skills and deep understanding of data modeling, ETL processes, and database querying to create a reporting solution to serve as a data source for impactful reports and dashboards. 

A key skill required will be the ability to directly query and analyze MongoDB databases, alongside other relational and non-relational databases. 

Key Responsibilities: 

Source Data Analysis: 

• Conduct thorough analysis of source data to understand its structure, quality, and relationships. 
• Identify data inconsistencies and propose solutions for data cleansing and normalization. 
• Document source data models and data dictionaries. 
• Write complex queries to extract and analyze data directly from MongoDB databases. 
• Optimize MongoDB queries for performance. 
• Understand and work with MongoDB data structures and aggregation pipelines. 

Database Modeling: 

• Design and implement efficient data models for reporting databases, considering performance, scalability, and data integrity. 
• Develop and maintain data warehouses and data marts to support reporting requirements. 

ETL and Data Pipelines: 

• Design, develop, and maintain ETL processes to extract, transform, and load data from various sources into reporting databases. 
• Build and manage data pipelines to ensure data consistency and accuracy. 
• Troubleshoot and optimize data pipeline performance. 

Reporting and Visualization:

• Develop and maintain interactive reports and dashboards using BI tools (e.g., Metabase, Tableau, Power BI). 
• Create ad-hoc reports and analyses to answer business questions. 
• Present findings and recommendations to stakeholders. 

Database Querying and Optimization: 

• Write complex SQL queries to extract and manipulate data from relational databases. 
• Optimize database queries for performance and efficiency. 
• Understand and implement database indexing strategies. 

Collaboration and Communication: 

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather reporting requirements and understand business needs. 
• Communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders. 
• Document reporting processes and procedures. 

Qualifications: 

• Minimum 3-5 years of experience in database reporting and data analysis. 

• Strong proficiency in SQL and experience with relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL, SQL Server). 

• Demonstrated experience with MongoDB, including direct querying and data manipulation. 

• Experience with ETL tools and data pipeline development. 

• Solid understanding of data modeling principles and techniques. 

• Experience with BI tools (e.g., Metabase, Tableau, Power BI). 

• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. 

• Strong communication and collaboration skills. 

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team. 

• Familiarity with cloud-based data warehousing solutions (e.g., AWS Redshift, Google BigQuery) is a plus. 

• Experience with scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash) is a plus. 

Preferred Skills: 

• Experience with data warehousing concepts and technologies. 

• Knowledge of data governance and data quality best practices. 

• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP). 

• Experience with data visualization best practices.
